Kim Technologies: The Solution to No-Code Knowledge Automation

CIO VendorRobert Farina, CEO
As the world is gradually embracing the “low-code revolution”, New Jersey-based Kim Technologies has achieved the feat of offering a “zero or no-code” application development environment for its customers. The firm provides a unique SaaS-based platform that utilizes such advanced AI capabilities as neural networks and machine learning, combined with data analysis technologies to assist knowledge workers in rapid automation of their standardized business processes and accompanying dashboards without any formal training in coding.

“Businesses these days have a very narrow approach towards AI. They usually focus on building specific applications or point solutions that are complex and time-consuming. Our proposition lies in an all-in-one, complete platform that can effectively streamline workflow management, document management, and case management for a large number of industry verticals,” remarks Robert Farina, CEO, Kim Technologies. In contrast to conventional IT automation projects that take many months or even years to complete, knowledge workers can use Kim to automate business processes on their own in a matter of hours or days and build new applications without any IT skills. The platform was designed to integrate with other systems from the outset, and knowledge workers can seamlessly upload all their existing documents and data into a unified knowledge base.
Knowledge workers can now utilize the platform’s intuitive interface to automatically generate responsive web forms for manual data entry in multiple languages; create parallel workflows with intelligent routing of documents and tasks; and even choose from almost a hundred different chart types to create their own dashboards for real-time insight and analysis of all activities undertaken on the platform. Kim also uses its own patent-pending “single model” approach to machine learning to allow the comparison of documents, such as third-party contracts, against an organization’s own templates and standards to provide a high-level assessment and route the work to the appropriate individuals without the need for human intervention.

It’s the usage flexibility that makes the platform unique in addition to its previously mentioned capabilities. To explain, Farina points out the ease of translating the platform’s applications from legal to education-based scenarios. In the former instance, common business case applications developed by the legal knowledge workers are dynamic case management, end-to-end contract lifecycle management, document review and insight generation, and as a single gateway for requests from the business to the legal department. Now, if those knowledge workers attempt to switch the application’s usability to education-related actions, they simply have to change the topics of the applications to highlight the relevant actions—teacher-student interactions or grading reports, for example. “The platform provides simple tools to configure custom templates and workflow processes through which any application related to information gathering or processing can be easily developed. Once certain case applications are developed for a specific vertical, its core functionalities can be easily applied to any other vertical after minor adaptations,” elucidates Farina.

Kim Technologies’ partnership with one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies provides readers a specific example of the value that the technology delivers to its customers. The platform was adopted by the in-house legal team to streamline its operations around the globe. The platform efficiently automated the company’s legal management workflow and consolidated many disparate repositories of contracts into a single unified data repository within Kim. Beyond helping the company to deal with its day-to-day legal workloads, it is now being used to speed up its contract management operations.

Until now, Kim Technologies has focused mostly on the legal and contract management verticals. However, the company has been significantly investing its time and resources to strengthen its platform’s AI, machine learning, and function-specific capabilities to expand into additional verticals such as HR, procurement, and compliance. In the process, Kim Technologies aspires to partner with more global players across different industries and enhance its global footprint extensively.
